Financial Analyst

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Financial Analyst analyzes and interprets financial and operating data for business planning and operations management. This position is accountable for providing accurately and timely pre-defined financial reports and detailed analysis on business performance. This role is critical for functional departmental objectives to be met such as forecasting accuracy, functional organizational goals, other internal metrics, etc. This role requires close interaction with functional business leaders.

REPORTS TO: Manager of FP&A

PAY CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time, Exempt

ESSENTIAL ACTIVITIES PERFORMED

  • Provides analytical support and review to management to include P&L projections/forecasts, budgeting, and/or account analysis related to specific areas of the business
  • Develops financial reports for forecasting, trending, and narrative results analysis for management
  • Use and develop best practice models to analyze large amounts of data and share insights
  • Develops and distributes standard and ad-hoc monthly reporting
  • Support M&A efforts during due diligence and post-deal business integration
  • Assists with the development, preparation, and presentation of short- and long-range financial plans
  • Assists with complex modeling in various areas of the business as needed

  • Ability to review multiple sources of data to analyze data in order to report key trends and provide recommendations in fast paced environment
  • Must be able to be curious and triage why trends are occurring
  • Ability to utilize technology tools including Salesforce, Excel, dashboards, and other tools in order to report and analyze data
  • Can manage multiple work streams simultaneously such as analysis of trending and process improvement as well as react to shifting priorities
  • Focus on understanding how reports represent the business processes
  • Must have a sense of urgency around completing tasks and the order and priority of tasks based on business needs
  • Must have the ability to work under pressure
  • Must be detail oriented and organized in completing tasks
  • Must have the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION      

BS/BA degree in Finance/Accounting/Economics/Business

EXPERIENCE     

  • 1-3 years of professional experience in Financial or Accounting analyst
  • 1-3 years of experience in analytical reporting
  • Fluent in Excel including production of pivot tables and data manipulation techniques
  • Strong knowledge of planning, sales analytics and customer service processes
  • Understanding of reporting and analytics, system integration and data governance
  • Experience using Business Intelligence tools

SKILLS

  • Good communication skills, able to multi-task, manage shifting priorities and problem solve
  • Self-starter with ability to take initiative, seek information, work independently, and deliver completed projects
