Sales Operations Analyst


The Operations Analyst will provide insight on the direction of sales and marketing activities in order to maximize sales and grow opportunities for the firm. The position will take a direct role in the compilation of data; development & maintenance of departmental reporting & dashboards; execution and support of analytics.  Additionally, the role will provide accurate analysis of the health of the sales organization including sales trends on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, and report on observed sales trends to leadership in order for solutions to be generated.

REPORTS TO: Director, Sales Operations 



  • Use and develop best practice models to analyze large amounts of data and share insights
  • Manage the sales reporting process to include compiling data from sales analytics tool and finance in order improve visibility of key metrics
  • Develop expert knowledge of in-house data sources and systems and become adept at quickly extracting and analyzing data from these sources
  • Work with multiple stakeholders (including IT and Sales) to improve reporting and tracking from our in-house systems
  • Work with sales and marketing leaders to develop forecast and trending reports
  • Suggest ways to optimize value proposition for customer market segments based on price elasticity, customer profile, and operational costs
  • Provide timely and accurate insight into the customer base to maximize growth
  • Analyze exception reports from sales analytics
  • Supply various ad hoc reports upon request
  • Be a liaison between the Operations team and all departments within the organization in providing operational support
  • Work with key stakeholders to improve sales & marketing processes, including qualification, and opportunity management

  • Ability to review multiple sources of data to analyze data in order to report key trends and provide recommendations in fast paced environment
  • Must be able to be curious and triage why trends are occurring
  • Ability to utilize technology tools including Salesforce, Excel, dashboards, and other tools in order to report and analyze data
  • Can manage multiple work streams simultaneously such as analysis of trending and process improvement as well as react to shifting priorities
  • Ability to create Salesforce Reports and Dashboards that are utilized across multiple departments
  • Focus on understanding how reports represent the business processes
  • Must have a sense of urgency around completing tasks and the order and priority of tasks based on business needs
  • Must have the ability to work under pressure
  • Must be detail oriented and organized in completing tasks
  • Must have the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines



BS/BA degree in business or equivalent business experience


  • 1-3 years of professional experience in Business Analytics, with a focus on sales, marketing, finance or business operations a plus
  • 1-3 years of experience in analytical reporting
  • Knowledge of
  • Fluent in Excel including production of pivot tables and data manipulation techniques
  • Experience designing, developing and scripting reports & data models in MS Excel
  • Strong knowledge of planning, sales analytics and customer service processes
  • Understanding of reporting and analytics, system integration and data governance
  • Experience using Business Intelligence tools
